A Thousand Miles Away From Home...

Hello from sunny Florida. We are probably more like 5000 miles (?) away from home...but the title seemed relevant since it's the name of a new track from the upcoming album!

This week has mostly been about seeing family, however, we did manage to spend a day with Mickey and Minnie too -

It was good...but not as exciting as I remember it being last time we visited. Although to be fair, last time Hannah and I graced the 'Magical Kingdom', I was about 4 feet tall and Hannah regularly wet the bed.

According to Disney Worlds slogan this year, apparently 2008 is the 'year of a million dreams'. Surely that's technically impossible...we worked out (oh, how cool we are), you'd have to have on average nearly 2740 dreams a night to reach Disneys' target of a million dreams in 365 days. Never gonna happen.

Something I found strange about Disney this time round, (and I hate to be a bore), were the number of couples sporting veils and top hats with comical mouse ears resting upon their heads. I can understand children wanting to get married in Disney World, but call me old fashioned, I think I'd rather marry somewhere more traditional....ha, like Emirates Stadium...

Right, its midnight over here, and despite the fact I've just had a peanut butter flavoured Twix (I know, unbelievable), I'm off to have an alleged 2740 dreams...

March Video Diary - Part Two

Despite the fact Arsenal weren't involved in a certain game of football that took place on Wednesday night (urrgh) - it's been a good week.

Firstly, the early mix of our new single 'Another Break' came through and it's sounding good....secondly, Bradley's Morris Minor will be making an appearance on a BBC2 program called 'Filth: The Mary Whitehouse Story' next Wednesday evening!!!

For those of you interested, the program is aired at 9pm (BBC2, Wednesday 28th). It's a proud moment for both Brad and 'Betty' (the name of his Morris)

Here is the second installment of March's video diary -

We'll be writing to you from the USA next week....exciting stuff

Have a great week

March Video Diary - Part One

Summer has arrived here in England; the weather has been beautiful all week...although it will typically rain all of next no doubt.

News about the blog - The 'WinterKids Blog' will from now on be a weekly event. Yes, that's right, every Friday you'll have more than just the weekend to look forward to...I'm sure your thinking 'brilliant' in a sarcastic tone, however, we shall do our best to entertain as well as inform.
There's not a lot to add other than that - so we'll get down to business.

Here is Part One of our March Video Diary

Part two shall arrive next Friday :)

Hannah's Web Finds

I'm a bit of an internet junky...not so big on the social network side of things, but more into researching the latest gadgets and buying things on ebay - yes I'm a bit geeky.

So, I'm going to share with you what I've been doing in the last half hour - yes I'm bored.

The gadget…

I’ve recently realised that reading is actually quite fun.

Being in a band means that 90% of the time (whilst on tour) we’re waiting around, stuffing ourselves with food or just simply travelling in the van for 9 hours. So….this is why I find myself reading; to pass the time.

This gadget is quite perfect for me - it's amazons’ new reading device…

From what I understand - you buy your books online and download them onto the device (just like itunes for ipods). It holds 2G, I’m not too sure how many books you can store with that, but you can download newspapers, it has a backlight, you can write notes on it and there’s a dictionary too. It even has a built in MP3 player....so I can listen to the 'Harry Potter Audio Books' at the same time as reading them...or better still listen to the 'Prisoner of Azkaban' whilst
reading 'The Chamber Of Secrets'!!!

If you have one of these, please let me know - I would love to hear your thoughts!

The wedding dress…

I’m getting married in April 09, so I was doing a bit of wedding dress research. And this is what I found!

A wedding dress made from toilet paper!

(I wanted to include a pun about sh*tting myself on the day, but its not very lady like to do so...)

The website....

Found the most amazing website.

It brought back childhood memories of me sitting in front of the TV from 3:30pm - 6:30pm with a microwavable lasagne.

The website has a list of tv programmes we all used to watch when we were younger. Its really funny to see names of programmes you’ve forgotten about....like 'Pepper Ann' (see below) and 'Action League NOW!'

Have a great weekend :)

A New Beginning

Welcome to our new blog.

This blog signifies the start of a new era...not just because we have purchased an autoharp, but because things are finally starting to shape up nicely…

So far this year...

Although the first part of 2008 has been a fairly quiet year in terms of our contact with the 'outside world', behind the scenes we have been puzzling together the pieces for our first proper worldwide album release.

The record will include a few tracks from our Japanese release 'Memoirs', but will mostly be made up of new material. We have taken our time...however, we want to be proud of the record.

The New Video Diary...

Each month, we shall be posting a new video diary. Here is February's edition (a little late, we know, but we are planning on catching up with March and April shortly!)

Enjoy -

That is all for now
